The Harper Community Chest is an out reach mission of the seven churches in Harper, Texas. We are a service available to any resident in the Harper area that are in need of a hand up when the grocery budget end "doesn't meet".

On any given Thursday, there are approximately and on the average, 15-20 households that benefit from the open door of the Community Chest.

Through canned food drives sponsored by various organizations, our "pantry" has a flexible staples supply, but the availability for meat has been a very limited until the Christian Bow Hunters began donating to us.

Not only is the staff of the Harper Community Chest very appreciative for your contributions but those that can use the donations are extremely Thankful.

We are very humble to be a part of a hand in hand chain that strives to do what is commissioned for us to do --- be of service to one another.

Bandera County Helping Hand, has been serving local families, in need since 1984! Last year we served 3010 people, in Bandera County, with food.
That is an average of 250 a month. In order to serve so many, we rely deeply on the support and generosity of the local community, to ensure that these families and individuals do not go hungry.

Like the Texas Christian Bow hunters they supply a large amount of meat, we rely deeply on their donation. With the generosity of the Texas Christian Bow hunters, we are able to ensure that these families and individuals have the protein they need.
This program gives hunters the opportunity to donate wild game, to charities serving the needy.
Nationwide, food insecurity has not decreased significantly since 2008. It has increasing.
Not only has the need gone up, but we’ve been able to get more product in to meet that need, because of Agency like the Texas Christian Bow hunters.

"Last year, pounds of wild game was donated through this program, that helped fill a great need, and we are hoping for an increase this year. We appreciate very much the support from Texas Christian Bow hunters.

HCDBM - - - - - Thank you so much for all that Christian Bowhunters does to help support the families we serve. Read More >>>>>

Good Morning Danny,

Thank you so much for all that Christian Bowhunters does to help support the families we serve.  HCDBM is a Christian ministry that serves as a toolbox for our Hill Country churches and communities to transform the lives of our neighbors in need.
Through mentoring and case management for adults and at-risk youth, basic needs are met with much more than food and material resources; they are met with relationships that transform lives with the saving power of Jesus Christ.
Our mission: To help unite and equip the Body of Christ with food, resources, and training necessary to transform our communities and the lives of those in poverty and need through the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Founded in 2000 by David and Agnes Hubbard, HCDBM, a 501(c)(3), is a unique and effective faith-based ministry committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and bringing hope to those in need through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. HCDBM not only provides for basic physical needs but also addresses underlying spiritual and emotional issues that keep families individuals and children in the cycle of poverty and crisis.  We believe there are no short cuts out of persistent poverty and the pathway out begin with a commitment to long-term “one-on-one” mentoring relationships.  This goal is achieved through our three core programs; the Family Mentoring Resource Program, Focusing on Children in Need and the Community Resource Program.
The service area includes 8 Hill Country Counties; Bandera, Comal, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Uvalde and Northern Bexar County. In HCDBM’s rural service area, the US Census estimates 45,689 individuals are below federal poverty levels.
HCDBM assisted 741 families or 2,312 individuals, which included 929 children through our Family Mentoring Resource Program (FMRP) in 2015. FMRP Case Managers conduct an initial assessment to determine the client’s needs.  They then develop an Action Plan and set goals and accountability with the client.
FMRP provides other support services such as our Hill Country Kids Program, which serves almost 1,000 children by presenting Books and Bibles, Birthday in a Bag, Back to School Clothes, and Christmas Gifts/Easter Baskets.
We work closely with children in our Stand By Me Student Mentoring Program, which matches at-risk youth, grades K-12, in Kendall County with an adult Christian mentor.  Currently, there are 75 children enrolled in SBM with another 25 waiting for a mentor.
An additional 172 churches, nonprofits, and civic agencies partnered with HCDBM to receive FREE bulk resources to help another 18,000+ people through our Community Resource Program.
Together, with donations from wonderful organizations like yours we are able to provide and bless the families we serve with healthy and nourishing food. Thank you again for supplying Hill Country Daily Bread with the donations of deer meat throughout the year.

The Comfort Table/Food Pantry - - - - - The Comfort Table/Pantry relies heavily on the Christian Bow Hunters for their contributions. Read More >>>>>

The Comfort Table/FoodPantry was established in Comfort to feed the hungry in the area. This was many years ago. The thought at the time was that it would be for just a short time.

Here we are many years later and the need is much greater. Thanks, to organizations like the Christian Bow Hunters, we can continue to feed the food insecure in the Comfort area. The Comfort Table/Pantry relies heavily on the Christian Bow Hunters for their contributions of wild game to help meet the protein needs of our families.
We hope that this great organization can continue to supply us with this product. Last year many pounds of wild game was donated through the Christian Bow Hunters program, this fills a major need, we hope the poundage can increase this year.

Testimonial by Judith Jenkins - - - - - God answers all prayers. Sometimes, yes; sometimes, no; and sometimes, not now. Read More >>>>>

God answers all prayers. Sometimes, yes; sometimes, no; and sometimes, not now.
We are going through an emotional, physical and financial crisis. My husband’s brother, Jay, lost both of his feet due to frostbite. After rehab, our son, Herschel Moore, and my husband, John, drove to Chicago to get him. We knew God would help us to take care of him. But it turned out that Jay literally eats twice as much as John. Our food budget was shot!!
Where do we find the funds to buy twice the amount of meat to feed this man? We have a garden so vegetables are not a problem.
I was talking to my son about all this and a few days later he brought over deer and hog meat. Wonderful stew! Awesome meatloaf! Terrific pasta sauce!
Now when we say grace, “Thank you Lord for this meal,” it is with tears of joy instead of anguish.
Praise God for our hunters!
Judith Jenkins
